Project Estimator

As a Project Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating and managing projects involved with transmission, substation, distribution and renewable energy projects work. You will take the necessary actions to achieve targeted revenue and profits for the business. 

Our ideal candidate enjoys providing a high level of customer service, is detailed focus, and can handle multiple projects at once.   This position interacts with customers, quotes team, sales team and the warehouse to manage projects from begin to completion.


  • Responsible for estimating, bidding and/or managing project-oriented work for both prospective and existing business relationships
  • Primary liaison between customers/business partners responsible for all project tasks, timelines and issue resolution ensuring to successful completion of the project
  • Lead multiple projects from inception to completion
  • Review, resolve discrepancies and supply submittal packages for all projects 
  • Monitor and communicate project status/issues to sales team
  • Coordinate with manufacturers on project contacts, material list development, price quotation and order execution for both prospective and existing clients, document existing products and services used, potential product sales and related selling strategy
  • Develops relationships with new and existing customers and provides information to maximize sales volume
  • Understands sales objectives, strategies, advertising, and promotions and works to achieve them as presented with this role


  • Utility and/or Electrical experience highly preferred
  • Quotation/Estimating experience preferred
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Products including Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of methods used for ordering, processing, maintaining and record keeping of inventory
  • In-depth knowledge of sales and purchasing software functions
  • Detail oriented, possessing good analytical skills; ability to anticipate problems & diffuse situations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Maintain vendor lists, catalogs and brochures
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to exchange information
