Job Summary:
We’re looking for an Outside Sales representative to join our team and work directly with our customers.  As an Outside Sales rep., you will appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid customers in their success using our products.  This will be done by developing relationships with our customers through effective communication and bringing solutions to their needs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain relationships with customers to better understand and provide solutions to their needs
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from multiple sources
  • Travel throughout Meridian territory to make visits to customers, primarily contractors
  • Processes orders from customers in sales, using all required company policies, procedures and systems
  • Call, mail or deliver orders for processing, shipment and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner
  • Provides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms, delivery, credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
  • Develops relationships with key vendors in assigned electrical markets
  • Promotes and features key vendor products through joint sales calls and promotions
  • Works with Purchasing Agent or Branch Manager to resolve specific inventory problems as directed by Branch Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years electrical experience required
  • Knowledge of Rockwell is preferred but not required
  • Able to work with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships with customers
  • Presentation skills to include MS software: Word, Excel and PP
  • Strategic thinker
  • High energy individual with the ability to work with a wide range of personalities
